Alison Departs the Forth Rivers Trust
After ten years of working for the Forth Rivers Trust, our Director, Alison Baker will be leaving at the end of April with her last day being on the 25th April 2023. Alison has been the driving force behind the Trust’s expansion over the years growing from just 3 members of staff when she first started to well over 20 currently. She has developed the organisation to deliver bigger and better projects for the conservation of rivers, wildlife and communities right around the Forth, this has been one of her many achievement whilst in post.
Alison said: ‘It is not often you get the opportunity to lead a team of such skilled staff and help drive positive change and it has been a real pleasure being part of the Trust for the past 10 years. At the heart of the work has been the rivers of the Forth which are of such importance for wildlife and communities and It has been amazing how much a small organisation can achieve. I leave behind a fantastic team who I know will continue to use their skills and abilities to continue to lead the work needed to deliver the Trust’s objectives of improving rivers for wildlife and communities whilst giving rivers a voice at a national, regional and local level. ‘
As the Trust looks to its next chapter, Jonathan Louis and Amelia Heath have been promoted to Interim Directors whilst the Trust completes its longer term strategy.
Jonathan and Amelia said: ‘Looking forward, the Trust is in a strong position to support national, regional and local work to respond to both Climate Change and the Biodiversity Crises; to ensure our rivers are resilient and full of life. We lead a fantastic team of highly skilled staff who are passionate about the work we do to conserve our natural environment. We are excited for the Trust’s next chapter and can’t wait to continue delivering the amazing work we have planned for the coming years. Everyone at the Trust will miss Alison but the whole team wish her well on her future position’.
