Get Involved
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with your local river. Whether you are keen to get your hands dirty, looking to boost your CV, or just wanting to get out and about and meet some like-minded people, everyone is welcome. There are a range of opportunities available: from walking along the river looking for fish spawning activity to spending a day in the water helping install brash banking. We can help you to learn new skills and/or complete certified training courses to allow you to take part in some of the more challenging tasks.Â
We would love to have you on board. Getting involved is easy – register for volunteering and we will find something based on your interests!Â
If you haven’t decided what you’d like to get involved with yet, but want to keep an eye on upcoming volunteer days, you can sign up to our mailing list to stay in the loop.
You can also get in touch to find out about current opportunities we have in ongoing projects by emailing hello@forthriverstrust.org.
Corporate Volunteering
The Trust can arrange corporate volunteering events to get your company and your staff involved with hands on river conservation activities providing benefits to wildlife and communities local to your business.Â
We can run corporate volunteering across most rivers in the Forth and get your teams involved with a variety of tasks.Â
Everything from:
- Litter picks
- INNS control (balsam bashing)
- Tree planting
- Habitat creation projects
- and more…
Opportunities available will depend on the time of year.
How much does it cost?
The following outlines costs associated with running corporate volunteering days – full or half day sessions are available depending on requirements.
Full day £90 per person (minimum charge £900)
Half day £60 per person (minimum charge £600)
Prices above exclude VAT.Â
Tea, coffee and biscuits are complimentary. Individuals should bring a packed lunch, but this can also be provided for a small additional charge.Â
Should the event be cancelled within 10 days of the event date, a 20% charge will be applied to cover organising costs. If the date is moved, this will be rescheduled without charge.
Why do we charge?Â
By charging a fee for corporate volunteering, this allows us to cover staff costs to organise and run your event. As a not for profit charity, we do not receive core funding and require to recoup costs. The charge covers staff costs, our insurance and any materials required for the day. Should there be any money left over, this goes directly towards meeting our conservation aims around the Forth.
To enquire about a corporate event, please email hello@forthriverstrust.org and someone will be in touch to discuss further.
