A fantastic day with a great group of people. We started our day in Callander Meadows car park and took a stroll along the Teith and towards the Falls of Leny following the old Trossachs railway line, now the cycle path. We were on the lookout for salmon leaping as we headed towards the falls and along the Garb Uisige.
The walk was run as a guided salmon walk with Jonathan explaining the life stages of salmon and why they are making their incredible journeys at this time of year. This walk was run as part of Callander’s Landscape. Sadly we never seen a salmon today but some of the group did manage to see what we believe to either be a small sea trout or large brown trout.
Autumn was in full swing around Callander too and everyone was treated to spectacular views and sunshine.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made it so enjoyable. If you didn’t manage to make it along today, you can go for a walk and try to spot salmon leaping at the Falls of Leny. We have included a route map with this post.
