Overview
The Leven Catchment Collective was set up in 2025 to bring together farmers, land managers and community groups within the Leven Catchment, to support a future where thriving ecosystems, community wellbeing, and resilient businesses go hand in hand.
The Leven Catchment Collective is currently facilitated by Forth Rivers Trust and there are two parts of the collective, the Community Springboard and the Farmer Network.
The Community Springboard supports community groups involved with nature restoration, wellbeing through nature, or nature connection in the Leven Catchment. Examples of types of support offered are for skills & training, capacity building, and project development support.
The springboard was kicked off this winter and brought together community members involved in nature-based activities to discuss the needs and priorities of local groups to shape the Community Springboard, and which first next steps to take.
The Farmer Network brings together farmers, land managers, and landowners in the Leven Catchment to share experiences, learn from each other, and collaborate on practical topics like soil health, water management, crop rotations, fertiliser use, and more to support thriving farm businesses and landholdings.
As a farmer-led initiative, the network is shaped by the interests and needs of participating farmers. Our first meeting was held in mid-November 2025 at Loch Leven’s Brewery where there was an open discussion over a pie and a pint between local farmers to discuss ideas for trainings and collaborative efforts that could shape the next steps for the network.
