Rugby Club Weir Bypass Channel
The weir was first constructed for a corn mill known as Wallace Mill or West Mill. It was repaired during Livingston’s construction and is now redundant.
The works to reinstate the by-pass channel at the weir were completed in the spring of 2019. To celebrate the official opening the Forth Rivers Trust held an open day which included a duck race down the channel.
There was lots of activities and the Trust science team were on hand to talk about the new fish pass and what it means for wildlife in the area. Â
