The first eel conference (after a pandemic postponement) to be held in Scotland.  This event will finally bring together leading conservationists and specialists from across the world – where COVID permits.

The event will be a day of diverse talks focused on efforts to better understand and conserve the critically endangered European eel. A list of the speakers are below, with more to be announced!

Talks will focus on the incredible journey of the eel from the Sargasso sea to Europe, the threats facing eels and the work people across the world are doing to preserve eel species. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the first eel conference in Scotland and shape the conservation of the species. Policy makers and leading professionals will be brought together to discuss the future of eel conservation.

This mysterious animal still hold many secrets and collective efforts are helping to unveil some of the answers. From the enthusiasm generated by this event we aim to increase the efforts to conserve and understand eels in Scotland and further afield as well as diversify funding opportunities for these projects.

Registration is needed on the day (after pre-booking your ticket). Please let us know if you book a tickets but can no longer make it. Due to ongoing restrictions we have had to limit the event to 100 places, therefore we will be operating a waiting list and any available spaces will be in demand.

If you had previously booked a ticket for the conference (2020), then we apologise that you will be required to rebook, due to the delay in being able to reschedule this event.

Parking on the day will be available. Please use all zones in the carpark for this event.

Filming will be taking place on the day.

Dietary requirements will need to be outlined before the event to make sure these can be provided.
