World Fish Migration Day 2022

Today marks the start of World Fish Migration day 2022 and here in the Forth there are a number of fish species which migrate in and out of our rivers. Everything from the iconic Atlantic salmon, shimmering sea trout, the humble brown trout, the wriggly eel and lamprey. These are just a few of the main species using rivers around the Forth.

These species are under threat due to a variety of pressures. Pressures such as the ones listed in the video are not just specific to Atlantic salmon but all fish species here in the Forth. The Trust is working with communities and other organisations to try and combat many of these pressures but it is a big task to achieve and will take many generations.
