World Fish Migration Day – Migratory Fish PressuresÂ
Today is World Fish Migration Day so we are dedicating our social media channels to migratory fish around the Forth. We have a series of posts going out which will highlight pressures migratory fish face, engage our followers with migratory fish and also include some fun activities you could do either today or over the next few weeks which all have a migratory fish theme to them.

First up, we thought the best place to start is highlighting some of the pressures Atlantic salmon face around the Forth with our handy video below. Although the video is about Atlantic salmon, other migratory fish such as sea trout, brown trout, eels and lamprey are also faced with the same pressures which can damage their populations in rivers around the Forth.

Migratory fish have many pressures which include barriers, habitat loss, pollution and wildlife crime. These are just a few of the top pressures which they face around the Forth but there are many more.
