This Saturday we went for a wondrous wetland walk at RSPB Loch Leven! Gathering local community groups and residents, it was a chance for us to share more about Leven LENs and share knowledge about wetlands.
Yvonne, senior site manager of RSPB Loch Leven, provided us with a fascinating look into the meticulous management practices that sustain the wetland’s vibrant ecosystems. We explored the delicate balance required to regulate water levels, manage vegetation, and employ conservation grazing to benefit priority species like the lapwing. It’s a reminder of the complex yet crucial work behind the scenes that ensures these habitats flourish.
The wetland walk was also an amazing opportunity to connect with community groups and residents from the Leven catchment. Over the past few months, we’ve been dedicated to engaging with communities in the area, meeting with over ten local community projects, distributing surveys, and participating in key local events. This effort has allowed us to build meaningful relationships and gain insights into the remarkable projects and passionate individuals within the catchment.
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with RSPB Loch Leven. Sharing knowledge and working together are crucial for driving positive change.
